The creators of PanicMechanic, motivated by their own experiences with panic attacks, have designed the application utilizing a biofeedback-based method. Their intent is to share effective strategies that assisted them in managing their symptoms. The application's primary goal is to help users navigate their panic attacks, comprehend their bodily responses, and recognize common triggers.

How it works

Upon sensing the onset of a panic attack, users can activate the app and place their finger on the device's video camera. This process allows for the recording of the body's panic response at various intervals throughout the attack. Users can also document stress levels, exercise habits, and lifestyle choices that could be pertinent in predicting future episodes. As the panic attack subsides, users have the opportunity to observe how their physiological response decreases over time. After compiling data from at least one episode, the app can provide personalized feedback such as, “Based on your average attack, you only have 2 more minutes until the end! You got this!” Users can also review their history of panic attacks, gaining insight into which circumstances may precipitate episodes.
